This
workshop is directed towards clinicians willing to upgrade their practice by understanding how
to employ CBCT use into their digital planning of different Endodontic procedures.
The
workshop will be divided into three parts first; it will tackle how to choose the
software suitable to read the CBCT data, how to use the different tools on CBCT softwares for
endodontics and how to navigate and understand the input provided by
this brilliant radiographic tool. In the second part of the workshop we
will learn how to decode the information provided by
the CBCT. We will also learn to blend this information with patient data
determining treatment options, prognosis and the risk of different treatments. In the
third part of it, we will learn to segment and superimpose this data on the digital
impression (scan) data to maximize usage of both inputs and to provide for an
exceptional tool of planning.&nbsp;
Pre-requisites: Each
candidate has
to come
to the workshop with a personal laptop (intel i5/i7eighth gen. or MacBook
Air/pro 2017 or more recent) with a mouse on which blue sky bio
free software is already downloaded. Downloading
Radiant viewer is a plus.

Digital Planning of secondary Endodontic treatment using CBCT

Course
Outline :- The course will include information on managing dental caries in
pediatric patients and will include 3 lectures where the third lecture will
also include hands on course for Atraumatic Restorative Dentistry.&nbsp; What is dental caries as a disease? ‘Dental
caries’ is the name of a disease that is defined as more of a behavioral and
biological disorder and the signs of the disease lead to ‘carious lesions’ that
needs to be treated. In managing dental caries, educating, and empowering the
pediatric patients and their parents is crucial. The earliest visual sign of
dental caries is the so-called white spot lesion that may benefit from
remineralization. If demineralization continues, the surfaces of the white spot
will cavitate, resulting in a cavity that need restoration.&nbsp;
The course will
help the attendees to define the characteristics of ‘dental caries’ as a
disease in pediatric patients with primary and young permanent dentitions. Caries
Prevention&nbsp; Primary prevention consists
of treatment before the onset of the disease, secondary prevention includes
early diagnosis and tertiary protection includes all treatment practices in
dentistry.&nbsp;
Various remineralization agents, especially fluoride, and new
materials such as peptides, antimicrobial agents, and fissure sealants are the
most important clinical applications in primary prevention. The attendees will
define the appropriate prevention measures in relation to caries risk status in
a tailor-made manner on representative cases. Minimal
Intervention Dentistry (MID) is defined as the prevention, early detection of
the disease and minimal invasion of dental hard tissues when decayed.&nbsp; MID includes techniques that preserve healthy
tooth tissues and the use of adhesive materials when needed. In invasive
approaches, caries may be removed by using several different methods and
equipment. Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) is one of the most
outstanding techniques that is in accordance with the MID concept.&nbsp;
The lecture
will include the concept of minimal intervention dentistry and will focus on
managing dental caries with Atraumatic Restorative Treatment for everyday
practice.
The attendees will have the chance to practice the use of special
hand instruments such as an ART opener and enamel hatchet for ART while
identifying the place of MID in caries management.

esthetics is dependent on specifically defined relationships between the soft
tissue, the teeth or implants, and the underlying osseous scaffold. A critical
soft tissue dimension is required for long-term predictable support of the
gingival margin, crestal bone and restorative esthetics. Proper and thorough
dental evaluation today is significant to determine that gingival phenotype of
the individual. Thickness of the gingiva, zone of attached tissue and tissue
color all play important roles in developing the long-term health and esthetics
in dental treatment of any kind. The exact determination of the location of the
underlying bone acts as a prognostic indicator of future soft tissue levels.
Soft tissue grafting techniques, from connective tissue harvesting&nbsp; and minimally invasive microsurgical
tunneling will be&nbsp; highlighted. The
expanding role of allograft materials especially dermal matrix and when to
utilize it will be suggested. The ability of these combined protocols to alter
the soft tissue profile around natural teeth, implants, edentulous ridges, as
well as to support facial soft tissue structures will be reviewed as to its
critical role in “Complete Esthetics”. This hands-on course will highlight the
3 most utilized soft tissue procedures in clinical practice, the socket graft,
ridge augmentation and root coverage procedures. It will teach in detail and
simplify the process of site evaluation, critical anatomy, flap design, harvest
techniques and suturing.
